Game 1: Handicap Leader (Slayer) on Guardian

We used a forged variant I had run into recently with some floating boxes and some hallways blocked.

Image/Video Description

Xor1an throws a plasma grenade at Doobie who was standing on one of the floating boxes. It sails right past his shoulder. (Doobie killed Xor1an with his assault rifle shortly after the grenade was thrown.)

cazador, having recently taken the man cannon, looks on as Xor1an tries (and fails) to stand on one of the pallets floating in mid-air.

Xor1an with active camoflauge sneaks up on cenotaph, shoots him with his mauler, and sticks a plasma grenade to his face. (FDragon who was watching the game laughed heartily at this one.)

Xor1an hits cenotaph with an overcharged plasma pistol shot just as he gets on a lift. He finishes cenotaph off with the battle rifle while he's mid-air.

cazador sees Xor1an and cenotaph (who are tied for the lead) fighting. He puts a frag grenade between them for a double-kill. (Note that both cenotaph and Xor1an had 24 points, so if either of them had gotten a kill the game would have ended.)

Game 2: Handicap Leader (Slayer) on The Pit

Image/Video Description

Needler (Xor1an) vs. rocket (cazador).

Kill thievery

cenotaph thought he was going to kill cazador in spite of the regenerator. He didn't count on Xor1an's treachery.

Clean-up in the bathroom

While everyone else fights in a small room, FDragon uses his battle rifle to take out Xor1an and a frag grenade to kill cenotaph. (cenotaph beat down cazador before the grenade went off.) This gets FDragon tied for the lead.

cazador sees Xor1an and FDragon (who are tied for the lead) fighting. He puts a frag grenade between them for a double-kill. (That's two games in a row he used this tactic.) This puts cazador in the lead.

"Why do I feel like I'm being followed?"

Xor1an with active camo stalks and sticks FDragon.

Game 3: Handicap Leader (Slayer) on Narrows

We changed the setting for our recurring rockets&hammers game type:

Image/Video Description

Xor1an gets a hammer double-kill (FDragon and cenotaph), but cazador arrives to puts a stop to his fun with a rocket.

cazador gets Xor1an on the bridge with rockets fired while we was crossing on the man cannon.

Little rocket, where are you going?

cenotaph fired a rocket at Xor1an and just missed him. (cenotaph did then kill him with the next rocket.) (This caught my eye because of the way the rocket passed right in front of Xor1an.)

"I think you've got something on your hammer."

Xor1an sticks FDragon.

Simultaneous hammers.

Xor1an vs. cenotaph. Xor1an was in the lead, cenotaph was not. cenotaph survived, and became tied for the lead as a result.

cazador fires a rocket from the lower level of the bridge at the top of one of the ramps between levels and catches Xor1an who was on the upper level with it. (Xor1an's leader nav point helped cazador notice him.)

Game 4: Oddball on Guardian

Xor1an suggested oddball, which our group hasn't played much with Halo 3. This game was over in less than 2 minutes, and I didn't find a lot to capture in it. The final scores were:

  1. Xor1an: 50
  2. cenotaph: 33
  3. cazador: 0
  4. FDragon: 0

This may explain both why Xor1an likes oddball and why other people don't.

Image/Video Description

Even with the nav point for the ball carrier, active camo still proves useful. cenotaph came around the corner with the shotgun, and Xor1an still got a ball kill.

enotaph uses his brute shot to liberate the ball from Xor1an. cazador helps with his mauler.

Game 5: Oddball on Guardian

As an experiment in trying to make things more fair, we changed the scoring to award 5 points for a carrier kill. The game lasted longer this time and the scores were less lop-sided, but the game was still over in a mere 3:15 and Xor1an again won. The final scores were:

  1. Xor1an: 50
  2. cenotaph: 38
  3. cazador: 32
  4. FDragon: 23

It's worth noting that Xor1an scored his final 10 points with two 5-point carrier kills.

Unless we can find a way to even things up in Oddball, I predict it will be a while before we play it again.

Image/Video Description

Realizing that he's been stuck, cazador drops the ball and denies Xor1an the carrier kill points.

Game 6: Handicap Leader (Slayer) on Snowbound

Image/Video Description

cazador gets Xor1an with a frag grenade and the explosive boxes.

FDragon lasers Xor1an (denying cazador a kill), then lasers cazador (denying cenotaph a kill), then lasers cenotaph (but only damages him as he's now tied for the lead and oing 50% damage).

Ghost fight in the cave.

Xor1an has the lead, so he can't board cazador's ghost. When cazador kills Xor1an, he gains the lead, so he automatically exits the ghost.

Everybody dies.

At the very end of the game, we see one dead body for each of the 4 players.
