Lunchtime Halo Highlights: 2008-04-21

FDragon uses a deployable grav lift to escape from jonnyBoy whose frag grenade we can see going off behind FDragon. Meanwhile, Xor1an is sniping at jonnyBoy.

Warlock, hiding in ine of the cement pipe fragment, wounds Xor1an as he tries to use a grav lift to reach the upper walkway. (Not a bad shot for his first game ever.) Xor1an commits suicide as he drops down, crediting Warlock with a kill.

cenotaph finds one of the new players (donut) and tries for an assassination. (Or perhaps he was beign charitable by meeleing rather than using a rocket.) He gets a rocket instead.

Exploding Tunnel

cazador pictured in front of the low tunnel with the rocket that killed him (earning donut a kill) and his own rocket that was knocked into the ceiling by the explosion. (I like the way the smoke occludes the view trhough the tunnel here, the contrast of light and dark, and the texture of the tunnel walls.)

Xor1an finds cazador and donut fighting and cleans up with a double-kill for the win, giving him a final score of 26.

cenotaph's rocket passes between the blades of jonnyBoy's energy sword. (It did then go off earining cenotaph a kill.)

FDragon fires his laser up and across the map, narrowly missing jonnyBoy, who's trying to figure out what the gravity hammer does. Meanwhile, Xor1an is charging his laser on top of the battle rifle tower, and cazador is trying to deter him with brute shot fire.

Zolimox wounds jonnyBoy with his gravity hammer allowing Xor1an to get a kill with the sniper rifle. (It might look like Zolimox was robbed here, but the film reveals the exact timing of events.)

Sword clashes inside a regenerator... this could take a while. (Xor1an and jonnyBoy.)

cenotaph earns 6 medals in 3 kills.

Zolimox lasers jonnyBoy.

That old familiar feeling...

cenotaph wins a meele fight with Scooter.

(For anyone who doesn't remember, the tag-line of Halo 1's Sidewinder was "Red Blood, White Snow.")

Xor1an takes down Doobie's hornet at a distance with a rocket.

Pythagorean

FDragon snipes Doobie as Xor1an rockets FDragon.

cenotaph lases donut's Wraith. (This did not destroy the Wraith, even though cenotaph was not in the lead and doing full damage.)

jonnyBoy executes a well-times frag grenade/battle rifle combo on Scooter.

jonnyBoy picks up the overshiled just as cenotaph decides to target him. At about the same time, cazador decides to get into the fight. It ends when cazador assassinates cenotaph, and jonnyBoy beats down cazador at almost the same instant. (The end happened so fast I had to rewind a couple times before I saw what happened.) Note that both jonnyBoy's frag grenade and the explosion of the mongoose it destroyed injured cazador.

Brown Spartans with Energy Swords on Parade

cazador assasinates Zolimox as he lases. Scooter thought he was killing doobie, but jonnyBoy (out of frame) got him first with the carbine.

Scooter didn't realize he was being pursued by two people (cenotaph and Zolimox) as he went to pick up the active camouflage (I think they both wanted it too). He prevails wit his rocket launcher.

Two for one

Zolimox gets two kills (jonnyBoy and cenotaph) with one battle rifle burst.

Is that spot cursed?

Xor1an sticks jonnyBoy, and then Zolimox sticks Xor1an when he's standing in almost the same place.

Scooter's rocket passes right between jonnyBoy's legs as he sword-lunges to kill Scooter.

jonnyBoy snipes Xor1an across the lower level.
